Analysis On opening Sequence Of Skins

Analysis on opening sequence

In the title scene we see all different things happening because it goes so fast, this may show how fast your life goes, that you only have one chance to do what you want to do, to live your life. What we see in the title sequence is represented with something, for example we see road signs going to places and this may represent that maybe they are adventurous, they go to all places, and this may be because they are free to do anything they want to do. Also the audience see drinking, smoking, kissing, street signs and a bridge.

Drinking and smoking may represent that teenagers can do what they want, they are happy and free, and also it may represent that they are up to no good. When people see teenagers drinking or smoking they think that it is bad parenting or that they have no parents, this means that maybe the programme is about family issues or friends. This moves on with the kissing, the programme may also be about sexual activities or moving on with their lives they are growing up. Also when we see the bridge and the street signs this represents they have to cross these places to move forward, they have to clear the path to move up in life.

When we see the title it looks a bit dull and boring. There is a black background and a watery effect title; the black background may represent sins, and the watery effect title may represent all different aspects of teenager’s lives, it also may represent flow of life, transparent/ water effect also could be how transparent the kids are, that they have to fight to what they want. They put up fights; most of the kids have issues in the programme about drinking, smoking and life.
